As being the largest living organ of the body, Skin covers and protects everything inside our body. Because of its ability to regenerate, Skin can improve or be in bad condition depending on how one is taking care of their skin. Therefore, you can have healthy skin with suppleness and shine through right skin care. If you’re really busy in your work and you have limited time then you can follow these simple steps to have a healthy skin and prevent yourself from different skin problems.

1. Protection from the sun

You always have to be cautious against the harmful UV rays of the sun that can damage the skin lifetime. It can lead to ageing, different skin problems and wrinkles. Moreover, severe exposures from the sun can lead to skin cancer.
It is known fact that no one can avoid the sun but you can at least take precaution to avoid direct contact from the sun. The first and most important thing is to apply sunscreen at least of Sun Protection Factor (SPF) 15 even if you are not intending to stay outside or it is cloudy. Re-apply sunscreen every two hours if you are perspiring or going on swimming.
 Moreover, sun rays are strong from 10 am to 2 pm, so it’s better to apply sunscreen more often and you can seek shade or take break indoor if possible. Furthermore, you can protect your skin by wearing clothes specially designed to block UV rays or long sleeved shirts and long pants. Exposure to sun can even lead to eye problems so wear UV protected sunglasses and hat before going out.


2. Treat your skin gently

You should keep your skin healthy since it plays a major role in protecting your body. Therefore, regular cleansing and shaving can take a toll on your skin resulting in irritation and redness. Keep your skin smooth and supple by following these steps.
Long baths and showers can remove necessary oil from the skin, so it is better to limit the bath and shower time. Also, use warm water instead of using hot water.
It is necessary to avoid strong soaps and detergents as it can remove essential oil leaving it dry. Therefore, it is better to use mild cleansers.
Use shaving cream or gel enriched with moisturizers to keep the skin smooth. Use a new and sharp shaver for safe and close shaving. While shaving you can tear or pull the skin. Thus, always keep in mind to shave in the direction where the hair grows not against it.
After bathing or cleansing, always dry your skin by tapping gently with the palm of the hand. Pat skin dry leaving some moisture on your skin.
Moisturize your skin depending on your skin types. For instance. use light moisturizer for oily skin. For dry skin, choose heavier and powerful moisturizer and avoid heavily scented products for sensitive skin.


3. Maintain healthy lifestyle

Another key factor to get a healthier and younger looking skin is obviously having a healthy diet. Applying sunscreen and moisturizers will help however most health experts says that having a balanced diet is the greatest way to gain a healthy skin. Therefore, eat lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein such as chicken and fish rather than red meat.
Smoking is not only injurious to health but bad for skin too. Smoking deteriorates collagen and elastin which are fibrous protein that gives the skin its strength and elasticity. Thus, smoking can lead to ageing and wrinkles. If you want to have a healthy skin then the only way is to quit smoking.
Stress is one of the major causes leading to different skin problems making your skin more sensitive. For instance it can cause acne, skin rashes and other skin problems. Therefore, to have a healthier skin it is very important to manage your stress. Get regular exercise, manage time and try to do the things you enjoy. You might be able to overcome your stress.


4. Drink plenty of water

 Generally, one should drink 8-10 glasses of water a day to keep you from dehydrating. One can be prone to dry skin and wrinkle due to the lack of water. Therefore, it is really essential to drink plenty of water to have a healthy, glowing and younger-looking appearance.


5. Get enough sleep

 You can get radiant and younger-looking complexion by getting enough sleep. Generally, adults need 8 hours and teenagers need 8-10 hours of sleep. Lack of sleep can cause depression and anxiety. It can even trigger fine lines and dark circles under the eyes.
